COVID-19 Is Impacting Our Community

Findings from amfAR, the Foundation for Aids Research, indicate that 22% of U.S. counties are disproportionately black, and those counties account for 52% of COVID-19 cases and 58% of COVID-19 deaths. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) shared a report in April that found 33% of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 were black, although they made up just 18% of the community being evaluated.
